WE RESEARCH WHAT WE TEACH AND LEARN IN AND THROUGH MUSIC
We do not offer courses. We do not provide teaching materials. We are not another teaching method. Our work begins with questioning who we are, what we do, and what we teach in and through music, and then we propose experiences outside the traditional societal structures, to whoever wants to deepen into and expand their musicking.
WE ARTICULATE PEDAGOGICAL APPROACHES THAT ARE COHERENT WITH OUR CHALLENGES AND CONTEXTS
We guide and support the scrutiny of theories and pedagogical practices committed with activism, in order to transform institutions, curricula, and traditional arts and music teaching methodologies, through the validation of people’s personal experiences, from a horizontal and humanist perspective.
WE APPROACH CHALLENGES FROM DIVERSE PROFESSIONAL STANCES AND THEORETICAL PERSPECTIVES
We interact with scientific developments in social sciences beyond arts and education, in order to understand the world’s complexity and its problems, which frame what we teach and learn in and through music.
WE SEEK TO NURTURE LIBERATING WAYS TO MUSICK, THAT ARE RELEVANT TO WHO WE ARE IN THE WORLD
We propose ways and media through which people and institutions promote musicking that does not perpetuate structures that colonize education and arts, which restrict people to mere audience or agents of reproduction of elitist culture.
